How to download AION 2 Global: Steam, PURPLE, system requirements and install size

Key facts

• AION 2 Global is free to play. You can download it on Steam or in NCSoft's PURPLE launcher.
• The install needs 100 GB of free space, preferably on an SSD.
• If you played the test on Steam, uninstall the AION 2 Playtest app and install AION 2 separately: the test client cannot enter early access. PURPLE players do not need to do anything.
• Early access starts on September 30 for Founder's Pack owners; launch for everyone is October 5, 2026.

Steam

The game is simply called AION 2 — Steam page. Add it to your wishlist so Steam tells you when it starts. Founder's Packs with early access are sold on the same page; details are in the AION 2 Global release date guide. The game does not show up on Russian Steam accounts — you need an account from another region, see AION 2 Global from Russia.

PURPLE

PURPLE is NCSoft's own launcher. Players who took part in the tests through PURPLE do not need to reinstall anything: the client updates by itself.

System requirements

• Minimum: Windows 10/11 64-bit, Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-10500, 8 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, DirectX 12. At Full HD the developers suggest the "Very low" graphics preset.
• Recommended: Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7-11700, 16 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB. At Full HD — the "Low" preset.
• Disk space: 100 GB, preferably SSD. A broadband connection is required.

How big is AION 2

Steam lists 100 GB of disk space. Free it up in advance: on launch day everyone starts downloading at once, so the download may be slower than usual.

If you cannot get into the game

• In the first days after launch the servers are full — expect a queue. NCSoft has updated the rules: when a server is full, players with a good reputation get a priority queue.
• A "lost connection to the game server" error in launch week is usually caused by server load. Check whether maintenance is running: NCSoft announcements are collected on the Servers and maintenance page.
